Hello dear guest, let me introduce myself; my name is Jean-Daniel Paquet and this is my story:
Born and raise in a small village named New Richmond the shore of the bay des Chaleur, I joined the adventure tourism program in 2006 after a tryout in administration and humans sciences program at the CEGEP de la Gaspesie et des Îles in the town of Carleton-sur- Mer. After my first session in the program I switched for the shorter program of adventure tourism given in Gaspe which is given on 1 year instead of 3. Finally after 1 year I decide to return into the DEC to get a diploma instead of an attestation, which I believe is not a real diploma on itself. So I’m finally back into the technical program for another 2 ½ years, happily, I already know some people in the group that I joined, so this make the transition much easier. For the first time in my entire life, last summer I traveled the entire country to get a summer job and for the first time I’d guided some people thru adventures activities, funny and interesting fact, and the job was assistant guide for a sea kayaking company, and the funny part come when I got my sea kayaking certification, I didn’t like sea kayaking at all and I got sea-sick on our 6 days final expedition which is quite funny I guess, so finally at the end of my courses i never expected to become a sea-kayaking guide, which I was last summer and this for the real and here I am now, hoping to guide some more people in the great outdoor !!!
